LalBrew® Abbaye is a brewer's yeast of Belgian origin. Selected for its ability to ferment Belgian-style beers ranging from low to high alcohol, LalBrew® Abbaye produces the spiciness and fruitiness typical of Belgian and Trappist style beers. Once fermented at higher temperatures, typical flavors and aromas include tropical, spicy, and banana. At lower temperatures, LalBrew® Abbaye produces darker fruit aromas and raisin, date and fig flavours. Traditional styles brewed with this yeast include, but are not limited to, the Belgian White, Belgian Blonde, Belgian Golden, Dubbel, Tripel, and Quad. Yeast produces a complex aroma and flavors can include pepper, banana, cloves, alcohol, and sweet fruits.

Final density: low-medium

Alcohol tolerance: 12%
Fermentation temperature: between 17°C and 23°C
